Today’s featured guest Candice Quarles is elected to the City Council in DeSoto, TX, a suburb of Dallas with nearly 50,000 residents. Elected in May 2016 in a special election, the first time candidate won with more than 66% of the vote making her the youngest member currently serving on the council.
Meet Candice:
A native of St. Louis, MO, Quarles received her Bachelor’s Degree in Personnel Psychology from Missouri Western State University and completed her Master’s Degree in Managerial Leadership with an emphasis in Human Resource Management from Webster University. Candice is also a social entrepreneur as Co-Founder of 9HappyPeople.com, a lifestyle fashion brand that shares positive messages while impacting community. Launched on Kickstarter, each purchase helps create jobs in local, under-served communities by donating 50% of its profits to job creation. Candice was also named Best New Startup Pitch Winner at the Small Business Matters Conference in 2015.
