In the Season 2 premiere episode of Changing the Face of Power Podcast, East Point, GA Mayor Jannquell Peters shares her story of how she has used her platforms as an advocate + elected official to provide a voice for the voiceless.
Meet Jannquell:
Jannquell Peters was elected as the 33rd mayor of the City of East Point in December 2013. Before taking public office, Jannquell held a variety of positions working with the underrepresented, providing a voice to those without. She served as a public defender and later as a child advocate where she represented abused and neglected children in foster care. She also worked as a Deputy Court Administrator for Juvenile Court. Jannquell serves on the city’s budget, finance and human resources committees along with the city’s Building Industrial and Development Authority and the Atlanta Aerotropolis Alliance Board.
